BACKGROUND:
Metro Vancouver has authorized borrowing authority for a quarter-billion dollars to build the first of up to six waste incinerators in our region.
Click on this link and then navigate to the report under section G1.
Metro Staff are preparing a Request for Proposals for waste-to-energy plants for our region.
All this is occurring:
- before the regional solid waste management plan is completed
- against the advice of the Regional Engineers Advisory Committee and the Regional Administrators Advisory Committee
- without the informed consent of the citizens of the region.
