BACKGROUND:
Metro Vancouver has authorized borrowing authority for a quarter-billion dollars to build the first of up to six waste incinerators in our region.

Metro Staff are preparing a Request for Proposals for waste-to-energy plants for our region.

All this is occurring:

  • against the advice of the Regional Engineers Advisory Committee and the Regional Administrators Advisory Committee
  • without the informed consent of the citizens of the region.
